Job Responsibilities
- Trade Compliance Generalist
- Location: Racine, WI
- Pay Rate: $33 per hour
- 4-Month contract with possibility of extension
- Handling our automation initiatives and projects, dealing with suppliers of current trade compliance software (Integration Point) and Business Analytics (under KPMG).
- Putting together cost-benefit analysis to support trade compliance initiatives.
- Learning indirect procurement rules and guidelines to support us putting together bid packages for outsourcing trade compliance activities with the input of Subject Matter Experts in Trade Compliance and running bids for us. Initiating RFPs, RFB, PRs, reviewing third party invoices and posting against POs in SAP, etc.
- Creating departmental metrics and maintaining KPIs.
- Timely reviewing and managing our budget and forecasts throughout the year.
- Managing engagements with current and potential third party suppliers and vendors of trade compliance services.
- Supporting other areas of compliance coordinating meetings and events.
- Supporting the auditing and validation of import and export transactions and creating reports and metrics.
- You will play a crucial role in ensuring our company adheres to international trade regulations and effectively manages tariff-related challenges.
- The role will focus on providing expert assistance with various tariff-related queries to support purchasing negotiations with our suppliers.
- The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of trade compliance, tariffs, and regulatory requirements, and will work closely with the purchasing team to facilitate smooth and compliant transactions.
- Tariff analysis - conduct thorough analysis of tariff regulations and their impact on our products and supply chain
- Supplier support - assist the purchasing team by providing accurate and timely information on tariffs to aid in negotiations with suppliers
- This role is to help with the team's backlogs. We need a practitioner who is able to hit the ground running day one and support with various queries (from simple ones - i.e., do tariff apply to (name of country), or what does tariff mean; to more complex - i.e., does a specific product fall under new tariff/regulations etc).
- The ideal candidate will have hands-on knowledge, understanding and experience in how customs brokerage works.
- We are NOT looking for a specialist in trade agreements!
- We are NOT looking for legal experience!
- We need an enthusiastic individual, who loves challenges and is able (and willing) to interact with people from various background.
- A combination introvert/extrovert is ideal.
- Communication is KEY.
Job Requirements
- Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, customer service skills and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
- Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information.
- Previous experience with computer applications, such as MS Outlook or data entry software.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 2-4 years customer service related experience required.
